Valentino Shoes on Malaya street, Marikina is a fixture in the shoemaking community of the city. A family run company, they've been around from the very beginning. A member of the Valentino family was even a Mayor of Marikina. Valentino is real historic. And in this case, history is accommodating.
Valentino is in the business of made-to-order footwear. Just what I needed.-- So last Monday, I turned in my design for production, and while the shoe silhouette is based on the classic Chukka Boot, the challenge that still persists is the additional feature.
This design is for a self-fastening shoe, and according to Valentino, by any means, this is not a common feature. In the storied and historic existence of Valentino Shoes, this Idea and the means I plan to achieve it, have not yet been attempted. This gives me security in believing that history is on my side.
